As more and more businesses move predominantly online, it is important to make sure you have a comprehensive digital presence to give you a fighting chance in the digital marketplace.
We find that many of our customers have websites, and as part of our Trade Partner service we can create a mini-website for you which you can easily link to your website – giving your customers instant access to information about our products. However just having a website doesn’t guarantee visits – if a customer can’t find you on Google or other search engines, then you aren’t likely to get many visitors, and so all your hard work on your website will go to waste!
With this in mind, we’ve put together some simple ways to help your website do well on Google so that customers can find your website easier and hopefully bring more enquiries in:
- Write a Blog
Keep your customers up to date with what you are doing – this will also help to keep your website regularly updated. Make sure it has good quality content and talks about subjects that your customers will be interested in. Extra information, opinion pieces and answering FAQs are all good post ideas.
- Social Media
Get yourself on social media – have a look around to see which social media sites are best for your industry, join up and start posting. Again make sure what you are saying is relevant to your customers. Don’t join too many sites, and ensure you regularly post to keep the account fresh and interesting. - Optimise your Pages
Ensure the key words that you think your target customers will search for are naturally in the content of your pages – don’t stuff them in so that your content doesn’t make sense – but ensure if you are for example talking about a product such as the Simplicity 6, you say the Simplicity 6 canopy and carport system.
- Videos
Use videos to offer your website visitors great content that provides them with information and advice. Search engines are starting to put videos at the top of the search results a lot more than they used to and they are ranking them higher. Many people are much more likely to click on the thumbnail of a video to view it because they are much more engaged with videos.
- Images
Keep your website, social media and blog all up to date with recent photos of your work and products. When uploading images to your website and blog, ensure to update the image title and description by using relevant keywords. This will help Google and other search engines to find your images as well as your content, forwarding potential customers to your website. Also when adding links to your site, if there is a relevant image, also add a link to the image too, statistics show that people are more likely to click on images than they are links.
