Robust Veranda Installation Goal Post Height Solution Free-Standing Scarborough NGT

This robust project in Scarborough is a testament to the endless possibilities we can manufacture and supply right here in the UK. Long serving Trade Partners, NGT Products Ltd, have created a unique installation in which a Simplicity 16 veranda has used our Goal Post height solution to create a free-standing shelter in a communal garden space.

NGT have been partnering with the Milwood Group for many years now and we value their first-rate service delivery to happy customers across the UK as one of our valued Trade Partners.

By using three aluminium Goal Posts to create a supporting structure (similar in shape to that of a football goal hence the name Goal Post!) the open space could support a veranda being mounted into place as if the wall of a home was in place. The goal posts were made to a height that would allow for a 2.7° pitch leading downward towards the front of the canopy.

Spanning a total of 4.9m wide and with a projection of 4m, the canopy boasts a sizeable footprint. An additional supporting post in the span was not required as the standing legs and goal posts were slightly inset on each corner, taking advantage of the canopy’s cantilever properties, reducing costs and increasing strength and load-bearing capabilities.

Finished in our standard RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey Textured powder-coat, this system is designed to last with a minimum life expectancy of 60 years. The 16mm Clear Toughened Glass will provide sufficient strength and protection from adverse weather and falling debris in high winds, an ideal solution as the veranda is surrounded by tall trees and buildings.
